| I bought this former Sir Robert Ogden owned horse from Doncaster's October sale on spec out of Charlie Longsdon's yard where he was placed 4 times from 7 starts over hurdles. His Dam has bred 4 winners, all of which have been placed in Listed races in France. We schooled him and then sent him chasing. He would have won first time out had he not overjumped the 4th last, but he proved the most fabulous fun horse for his syndicate of owners, winning at Plumpton and in all being placed in all bar two of his 12 runs for us including 2nd three times around Newbury and 3rd at Cheltenham. He has returned from his break in very good heart and will hopefully pay his way again over fences this season. Although most of his form is over 2 miles I am anxious to try him over 3 miles just to see where his high cruising speed might take him. Russian Flag has done us all proud again. This 2009/10 season he won 2 more chases including a £20,000 Handicap at Sandown. He also ran great races to be 2nd first time out at Plumpton and later on at Ludlow. He ran at the Cheltenham Festival but unfortunately ran no race what so ever. I actually ran 5 horses in all this day the others being at Fakenham and they all ran desperately badly - it was one of those days where they all ran too bad to be true ! |
