The ever popular and highly successful Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership is the ideal opportunity for anyone looking to enjoy all the benefits and excitement of being an owner at a fixed economicaly viable price. As an owner in the Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership you will be involved in the workings and excitement of a racing yard; coming to Upper Herdswick Farm to watch your three horses on the gallops and schooling, along with plenty of opportunities to have fun with your fellow owners over breakfast, racing and at social events. Members are kept fully informed about their horses’ progress and running plans directly from Neil.

On race days you will experience the thrill and anticipation of being in the paddock before the race. Whether you win or lose, the action is electrifying and you are right in the thick of it. Partnership members will receive race day owners’ badges, distributed fairly throughout the season, and can enjoy complimentary refreshments on many racecourses when the partnership has runners.

Since the partnership commenced, members have enjoyed great success with 26 winners, 58 placings and close to £135,000 in prize money, which in turn is paid back to members. The Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership has consistently been one of the best value and most successful partnerships in the country, a record we look forward to continuing!

Celtic Classic (IRE)

2013 Bay Gelding

 Sire: Cacique (IRE)

Dam: Dabtiyra (IRE) Doctor Devious (IRE)

This good sized quality individual was purchased from the Tattersalls Newmarket August Sales from the Paul Cole stable. He is the winner of three races on the flat and has been placed a further five times. He has won over 1m4f on soft ground at Lingfield with his most recent win being on the all weather over 1m6f last December.

This exciting 5 year old will be aimed at Novice Hurdles, probably starting off over 2m4f in the autumn. He is one who, if we choose, could be switched back to the flat on the all weather  in the event of a cold snap during the winter.

2016 Bay Filly

Owned by The Ridgeway Racing For Fun Partnership

 Sire: Rip Van Winkle (IRE)

Dam: Bessichka (Exceed And Excel)

This big (16.2h) scopey mare has taken a long while to develop. She is a much stronger and more mature horse this time round and now has the advantage of a thorough education under her belt, whilst achieving two very lenient handicap marks, both on the flat and over hurdles.

She will be aimed at Mares hurdles with the option of running in flat handicaps if we so wish.

2011 Bay Gelding

Owned by The Ridgeway Racing For Fun Partnership

Sire: Midnight Legend

Dam: Gloriana (Formidable)

Sackett is a very good looking bright bay gelding who is the winner of 4 races and has been placed 13 times.

A yard favourite whose most recent win came in a 3m Chase at Fakenham in March for the Racing For Fun members (pictured behind).

At 10 years old he now qualifies for the better prize money Veterans Chases and will also be aimed at Long Distance Chases. He looks in really good form after his summer break and will be ready to run from October onwards.
