The ever popular and highly successful Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership is the ideal opportunity for anyone looking to enjoy all the benefits and excitement of being an owner at a fixed economicaly viable price. As an owner in the Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership you will be involved in the workings and excitement of a racing yard; coming to Upper Herdswick Farm to watch your two horses on the gallops and schooling, along with plenty of opportunities to have fun with your fellow owners over breakfast, racing and at social events. Members are kept fully informed about their horses’ progress and running plans directly from Neil.

On race days you will experience the thrill and anticipation of being in the paddock before the race. Whether you win or lose, the action is electrifying and you are right in the thick of it. Partnership members will receive race day owners’ badges, distributed fairly throughout the season, and can enjoy complimentary refreshments on many racecourses when the partnership has runners.
​
Since the partnership commenced, members have enjoyed great success with 26 winners, 58 placings and close to £135,000 in prize money, which in turn is paid back to members. The Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership has consistently been one of the best value and most successful partnerships in the country, a record we look forward to continuing!

A 6yro bay gelding by Creachadoir X Grande Symphonie who is a half brother to a 2 time winner. Luwdvig has been placed twice in Bumpers from 3 starts and had one run over hurdles last Spring when the ground came up far too quick for him. He has had a nice summer break and will shortly be ready for an exciting Novice Hurdle campaign this season. He will be a pretty useful hurdler but should prove even better once sent chasing. Like Victors Spirit he starts the season fresh and well and both qualify for maiden and Novice races making placing them that bit easier.

A 4-year-old gelding by South African Sire Vercingetorix X Acaciawood. This lovely looking young horse is half-brother to 2 flat winners and was a $300,000 yearling. He made his racecourse debut in a Bumper @ Stratford on 18 August 2025 finishing a very creditable 2nd beaten only a neck by a 5-1 on shot. He will run again very soon and then will hopefully run in another Bumper at Cheltenhams October meeting before starting out over hurdles. Being Southern Hemisphere bred, he currently gets a huge weight for age allowance of 12lbs from 5yros and up. With his very smart flat racing pedigree he could also revert back to the flat if we choose.

The Package

A one off all-inclusive payment of £3,750 for the 2025/26 National Hunt season, beginning 1st October 2025 and finishing on 30th September 2026.**
The Ridgeway Racing for Fun Partnership will have a maximum of 15 shares. As a member of the partnership you will have a free lease on the two partnership horses.

* All routine veterinary work such as vaccinations, blood tests, endoscopes and treatment of any minor ailments is included. Should any horse incur a vet bill for a single item in excess of £250, the cost will be additional and shared equally between the partnership members.

All prize money and appearance money (net of jockey fees and entry fees) will be shared equally among members.
